I love to set my clients up for success when it comes to their portraits. This includes educating them on what is most flattering to wear when it comes to their shoot. Here are a few tips and tricks to set you up for success for your next shoot:
1. It looks best on camera when your outfits are coordinated but don’t match.
2. Soft, muted tones that are different than your environmental backgrounds photograph so well. Leave the neon colors at home for this one and steer clear of any large writing or logos.
3. Don’t forget to accessorize! A large statement necklace, scarf, vest, or hat is a great choice for a pop of color! Heels or wedges help elongate women’s legs while closed toed dress shoes look manlier than sandals or sneakers for him.
Be sure to call me when you’re ready for your next family portrait session so I can send you my full style guide! It features in depth details on what choices flatter certain body parts, coordinating colors within your family, tips for how to keep little ones happy throughout the shoot, choosing a great location, and more!
