Ansley initially contacted me about doing her engagement session here in Alabama, since she and her fiance Josh were getting married in Florida next spring. It just so happened to work out that I could get a team together and make it work to travel down that way for her wedding in April, so I was doubly excited to meet these two. After we got rained out from a sunrise engagement session a few weeks ago, we were bummed. God was smiling on us when we rescheduled, though, because it was beautiful out this day! We decided on Ansley’s aunt and uncle’s lakehouse for the shoot, and it worked out great! I was so excited when they suggested we take the boat out and I knew I could get a little creative.
Of course, Josh being the awesome fiance to Ansley that he is, he was such a great sport to shoot these the day before the Iron Bowl and their trip to Auburn that same night. We had a great time laughing and getting to know each other better. One big reason I LOVE to shoot an engagement session with the couple before their wedding is just this! Now when I show up on their wedding day, we won’t be strangers. Instead, we are already new friends with things in common. Here are a few of my favorites from our time together:
