Best of 2018 Weddings

2018 has been such a fun year for me! As I look back on 2018, on how much I’ve grown and how much fun I’ve had, I’m overwhelmed with gratitude:

  • To God for sending me the most amazing brides and clients in His timing.

  • To my husband for taking on a lot of extra responsibilities around the house and with our son during the busiest times of the year for me

  • To my clients for trusting me to capture their memories

  • To my friends, family, and followers for supporting me and my business. From every like, comment, and share to every time you share my name with someone who needs pictures, thank you!

There was something spectacular and special (and usually multiple things) about each couple I served and each wedding I shot this year.

Here are my favorite things about each wedding:

Jessica + Corey’s October Ross Bridge Resort Wedding

Boxwood & Bows kills it with the florals and the fun every single time. These florals paired with Jessica’s lace gown were a dream to photograph!

One of two things I really love for my brides to know is that it’s worth taking the time out for SUNSET husband and wife photos! Ross Bridge Resort’s beautiful golf course did not disappoint!

Ansley + Josh’s April Seaside Chapel Wedding

Ansley’s bridesmaids pictures at Sandestin Resort were some of my most liked on social media this year!

Seaside Chapel is one of the most beautiful church venues I’ve ever seen.

Then there was the epic petal toss on the way out of the ceremony! I can’t take credit for this shot that my second shooter Kristy grabbed!

Ashley + Dylan’s November Douglas Manor Wedding

These details were so much fun to shoot! My brides know how much I love white with pops of color!

When I found out Dylan was wearing his Marine Corp dress blues for their wedding, my heart stopped. These were a dream to have on the other side of my camera. It didn’t hurt that how much he loves his bride Ashley showed through all day long!

Ashley’s mom passed away earlier this year. This balloon release in her honor at the end of their ceremony was so perfect. All the sweet tears!

Of course these sunset images made the list! Because golden hour husband and wife portraits are always a good idea!

Kasey + Nick’s April Downtown Birmingham Wedding

This Tutwiler Hotel first look and Bride + Groom portraits were also amongst my most liked on social media this past spring.

And then there was the moment we got to sneak off after the ceremony, stop traffic, and play with Kasey’s veil 🙂

Evelyn + Ben’s November West Alabama Elopement Wedding Reception

Are you guys sensing a theme when it comes to my favorites? Evelyn + Ben were naturals, and that small downtown golden hour was perfection.

Audrey + Matt’s May Noah’s Event Venue Wedding

White marble. Blue details. Stunning flowers with pops of green and pink. Enough said!

Sierra + Blake’s December Church Wedding

This first look on the dock was Sierra’s dream, according to her bridesmaids. She didn’t want to walk through the mud, so we off-roaded to get her there. It was worth all the mud for this perfect first look on the pier.

These two opted for traditional vows during their church ceremony, but they read personal vows to each other at their first look. It was such an honor to document such personal and sweet words.

My couples are always up for adventure! Since Sierra + Blake’s ceremony ended during sunset and there was a drive to the reception, we snuck off for some fun Christmas light husband + wife portraits instead!

Crissy + Jeremy’s September Intimate Private Lake Wedding

This private estate lakeside wedding was the most intimate and beautiful setting for this September wedding!

I hope you enjoyed my 2018 wedding recap as much as I did!

Love + Blessings,

LA
