The downtown Birmingham, AL forecast was only calling for a 10-20% chance of rain that evening. Casey + Eddie were all ready to go for their engagement session with Leigh Ann Goodin Photography. Halfway downtown, the bottom fell out. The forecast had been the same the day before, and not a drop fell during my shoot. I had my clear umbrellas in the back, crossed my fingers and said a prayer it would just be spotty. We would be just fine! I knew it in my head and my heart.
We got through our time at the courthouse followed by Alabama Theatre, utilizing those umbrellas and a covered area on the sidewalk, and the skies cleared up as we headed to an unscheduled stop at Southside Baptist Church with their beautiful covered porch. The sunlight tried to hard to peek through the clouds as we headed to Railroad Park, and the sky turned the perfect shades of pink and blue as the sun started setting. Since the rain slowed us down just a tad, we decided to take advantage of the Regions Field Birmingham sign when the sun went down and finished up at the light tunnels!
Casey + Eddie, you guys are such a joy to be around! I had so much fun traipsing around downtown with you guys, rain and all! Thank you for keeping smiles on your face despite the rainy start. Thank you for trusting my judgement and being so awesome! Since the day I met you at our coffee meeting, I’ve looked forward to your wedding and your engagement session just mounts my excitement for it even day! All your hard work and planning is going to pay off in the best way, and I can’t wait to capture it all. Your willingness to listen to my advice and take it to heart is one more reason you guys are so ideal!
Love + Blessings,
LA
