Proposals make me nervous. But in a good way. Like butterflies in your stomach when you buckle in on a roller coaster. But when Steven contacted me about shooting his horseback riding adventure proposal, my heart was filled with excitement and joy!
The big day was scheduled for September 5th which just so happens to be my birthday. Steven is a military veteran, currently in California. Taylor is an Army vet and currently still serving the the National Guard out of Fort Rucker. Steven had been in contact with Mo, planning all the fun and now it was my turn to be involved! Me and Josh arrived at Mo’s about 15 minutes before Steven + Taylor. The giggles hit me when I saw their car pull up and excitement filled the air! We pretended not to know who they were, made small talk, and snapped a few pictures “of the horses for Mo’s website and social media accounts” to hide behind. We had the best time getting acquainted with our horses and galloping into the sunset!
Steven + Taylor, it was an honor to spend our evening on a horseback riding adventure with you! Words can’t ever adequately describe what an honor it is to document such precious moments. I wouldn’t trade sweating a lot and crying a little behind my camera for anything when it comes to capturing such joy. The world is so dark, and this day brought so much light to my heart! Thank you for inviting us alongside you. Here are some of my favorites:

PS- Side note about Mo’s! Mo is amazing! He came from Africa on a track scholarship to attend Troy. He worked in his field for 14 years before deciding it was time to do something he loved. He also gives God ALL the glory! He’s a hoot and a half, has a teacher’s heart, and is totally living his best life! He made the experience one to remember, proposal aside! Here are a few behind the scenes of him and Josh!
Check out their video, shot by Josh on my phone, on horseback 🙂
