Jill + Cale’s Oak Mountain Adventure Engagement Session

“I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.” – Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery.

Me too. Jill and Cale’s Oak Mountain Adventure Engagement Session is perfect proof of how beautiful Octobers in Alabama can be. But shining out even more beautiful was Jill! Her dark curls dangled just perfectly over her shoulder. Her makeup was perfect to match. And their outfits were a photographer’s dream (I always jump for joy inside when couples follow my style guide advice). Her engagement ring was even sparkling like the sunshine through the trees.

We met at the top of Peavine Falls trail, which is a good little drive once you’re even inside the back gate of the state park. I love that drive. I’ve only ever made it in fall as an adult. I have vague memories of riding a summer camp van up the winding road in the miserable heat and singing “Ironic” with a girlfriend 😂 And of course this engagement session was a lot of the same (and was one of my favorites to date)! If you can’t tell, I love a good Oak Mountain adventure engagement session. Especially in the fall. We made our way across the best view and down the mountain to end at the tail end of sunset by the water.

Jill + Cale, thank you for trusting me. Whether that meant watching me bounce around some boulders to get the best shots. Or handing me your beautiful ring to take it’s perfect, tiny details. I had so much hanging out with you guy at Oak Mountain. I can’t wait for your February wedding at J+D Farms! It’s going to be the best day full of more laughter and love! Here are some of my favorite images from our time together:
